Historical Profile of St. Francis School CISCE

The school was established int 1996 by the Franciscan Missionary Brothers to cater to the educational needs of the local community in Begur. The initiative was led by Rev. Bro. Agnel Almeda, starting with a kindergarten class of seventy five students which has now increased to 1837 students.

In 2003, the school expanded to include primary classes up to grade II and began the process of affiliating with the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Board. It received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) the same year. On 20th May 2011, the school received temporary affiliation from the  Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE). The same year, our first batch of students appeared for the ICSE Board Examination. The school received permanent affiliation on 17th March 2016. The school was upgraded to ISC in 2025.

Laying the Foundation for a Spectacular Future

The story of our school is one of persistent growth and soaring ambition. While the idea of our institution took its first spectacular steps toward the future in 2023—marking a new phase of expansion—our roots were established much earlier.

Milestones of Momentum

  • 2005: The Cornerstone is Set

This year saw the completion of our inaugural building, the sturdy foundation upon which all future success would be built.

  • 2015: An Era of Expansion

As the school flourished in strength and stature, we broke ground on a major new school wing. This expansion was a direct response to our growing community and commitment to quality education.

  • 2022-2024: Building the ISC Dream
  • Anticipating the launch of our prestigious ISC classes, we initiated construction on yet another state-of-the-art wing in 2022. This impressive structure was fully realized in 2024, solidifying our capacity to guide students through their final, critical years of secondary education.

From a single building to a sprawling campus ready for the challenges of ISC, our infrastructure has consistently evolved to meet our educational vision. We’re not just growing; we’re building a legacy, brick by intellectual brick!
