Rev. Bro.Paulus Mortiz was born on 29th June 1869 in Koenigsberg, Germany. He was gifted with a deep love for humanity, orphans, destitute & economically challenged children found in him a loving father & teacher. He saw the face of God in every person. To continue his wholehearted service in lending a helping hand to the poor & needy, he founded a congregation of religious brothers in 1901. Today the brothers are actively involved in developmental activities such as, Orphanage, Boys Homes, Schools, Colleges, Technical Schools, Dispensaries, Hospitals, Vocational Training Center, Rehabilitation Centers, etc. The Brothers are also involved in sponsoring higher educational institutions for the poor and running an Engineering College and Management Institute. The Brothers take care of more than 8,000 orphan/destitute/poor children; impart quality vocational training in relevant income earning skills to over 2,000 under privileged early school leavers and child workers every year, offer excellent education to more than 50,000 students. The Brothers have a vision to be at the service of the human society-more specially to empower the socially and economically weaker and oppressed section of the society. The Brothers live and work in communities of three or more and try to be living witness of Franciscan joy and brothers continue with even greater zeal today as we have completed 115 years of our existence.
Our schools are primarily meant to provide catholic children with quality education based on religious and moral values but are open to all irrespective of religion, race, caste or language. They are therefore MINORITY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS within the meaning of articles 30 of the Christian ideals. Hence emphasis is laid in the faith formation of our students. Being a Catholic Institution, it draws its inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ who taught people to love one another and even one’s own enemies and serve their fellow beings. Hence, it is the spirit of service that motivates the Brothers, in their single minded dedication to humanity, believing that service to people is services to God. The congregation conducts more than 50 schools spread across 19 states; each of which aims to be centers of excellence.
